For the afternoon, check out Hanauma Bay

National Cemetary of the Pacific, the Punch Bowl The National Cemetery of the Pacific is awe inspiring.  Commonly called "The Punchbowl" because it is inside a crater.
Honlolulu view from Punchbowl As you enter and leave the National Cemetery of the Pacific you will see a beautiful view of Honolulu and Diamond Head
Arizona Memorial The Arizonal Memorial and the grounds at Pearl Harbor are well worth the visit.  The recently remodeled visitor center plaza is wonderful.
USS Missouri The "Mighty MO" the USS Missouri is history brought to life.  Plan to spend a few hours on the Mighty Mo.
Pali Lookout You can get to the other side of Oahu various ways. One way is to drive the Pali Highway.  If you do, take time to stop at the Pali Lookout which looks toward the windward side of the island toward Kaneohe.
Kailua Beach Park

Kailua is a small town with a beautiful, almost hidden beach park. Kailua Beach Park is a great place to relax or get energized by kite surfing.

Lessons for wind and kite surfing and kayaking are readily available in Kailua.

Norht Shore If you are lucky during the winter months when you get to the North Shore a surfing competition will be going on!  Rememer, swimming here can be very dangerous and surfing is only for the experts when the waves are high!  But what fun to watch.
Just up from the surfing area of the North Shore is an area called 'Sharks Cove'.  If you look closely, you see people not fins in the water.  This protected cove is enjoyed by many for snorkeling.
Waimea Bay

Waimea Bay is beautiful and beyond compare!  Opposite the entrance to the beach is an Audubon Preserve which you can also visit.

More Beach information about Waimea Bay.

Wish you were here!

As you travel back to Waikiki area you will reach Haleiwa Town also famous for surfing and great town to visit.  Check out the Grass Skirt Grill for lunch.

After leaving Haleiwa head inland and visit the Dole Plantation.

Blow Hole

The Blow Hole and spectacular shoreline from Diamond Head toward Hawaii Kai is another direction to take to get to Kaneohe.

This can be a day trip of its own and well worth the time.
